John and his family lived around the corner from mine when I lived on McIntosh St. That is when we got to know more about each other and our families. In the 70's his family purchased the house next door to the one my parents had bought when they relocated to Wilmington. Often on my visits home to see my parents John and I would run into each other and catch up on the latest news from any classmates. He was always congenial with a smile lighting up his face.
